Your line "self-company can be addictive" hit me right between the eyes. I've spent more and more time writing over the past several months, which I love. But I have definitely noticed an increased preference for my own company :). On the one hand, I love it and, on the other, I wonder if it's a slippery slope and I'm going to end up in some remote shack in the woods with only one friend - my computer.
