What a tragic story and also an odd one. Like the commenter below, I wondered if the perpetrator was the guy Ardeth was arguing with. It's hard to imagine a developmentally disabled twenty-five year old man managing to get her to voluntarily go with him when there is a witness (and potential help) within eyesight.
