Happy October, my friends. It’s my favorite month. There’s so much to celebrate; cooler weather, pumpkins, falling leaves, Octoberfest, Halloween. My birthday! Our trick-or-treating age kids must be especially happy that they will get to don costumes and resume their annual sugar highs.

But wait! Just when you thought it was safe to go door-to-door again, here comes the first round of the annual Halloween candy scare. This one was a tweet from Bensalem, Pennsylvania:

BEWARE: As Halloween gets closer, @BensalemPolice are warning parents to LOOK at your child’s candy before they eat it. They confiscated these snacks that look a lot like the real thing. All are laced with THC. @6abc

When I wrote about this in 2015, the potential poison lurking inside our children’s goody bags was an Ecstasy pill shaped just like those sweetheart candies that we used to give out to our classmates on Valentine’s Day.

To be fair, the reporter did note that the $10 per pill price tag seemed like a deterrent to even the most devious mind. However, parents were still urged to double check all Halloween candy to make sure it did not look tampered with. Watching this news report…
