There's no doubt that Charles Manson was smart and tuned in to some general dissatisfaction and hypocrisy that many people in society were feeling. But, no, I don't think Charles Manson was right. I think the pain of his horrendous childhood and the failure of his own caretakers clouded and distorted his view of the world and he used it to generalize about society in general.
And to rationalize all the horrible things he did. Most parents weren't neglecting their children. Most people aren't crazy. Most adults aren't obsessed with fame and attention. But that was Charlie's world.
