The lengths some people will go to to get revenge for a real (or imagined) wrong is truly frightening. So glad no one died in this story. I don't know if you've ever herad of the Bath school bombing that happened in the 1920s (after a long feud with locals that resulted in the death of several children) but Mr. Heemeyer's personality in your story reminded me of the perpetrator's.
