I read about this case recently and am so glad it was solved. Kudos to the cooperation and empathy shown by Hoff's daughter.

Aside from the horrible details of this innocent child's murder, one of the creepiest things about this story was the number of viable suspects aside from the actual killer; a serial killer who liked grape gum? A neighbor who collects sexual assault news articles? A man fingered by his own wife after sexually abusing another child? Makes me wonder who lives in my neighborhood.
