Great article. The Maybricks' kind of reminds me of the saying, "with friends like these . . ." although in this case, it's family. It doesn't surprise me that Florence's adultery was her downfall in the murder trial; that seems to be pretty common historically (where people were convicted as much for their "moral lapses" as their crimes).
