Great article. I'm a forensic psychologist and was astonished to learn from a Japanese colleague that autopsies are rarely performed in Japan. At one point, they were performed in only 1.6% of the deaths and I recently read that on 11% of suspicious deaths are autopsied. I think cases like this are slowly changing this.
