Great advice for all different kinds of relationships, I think. If we've won an argument, continuing to talk about it can be perceived as gloating or throwing someone a bone, neither of which promote bonding. If we've lost, continuing to dwell on it makes it seem as if we're stupid, a sore loser, not listening, or not owning up. As for talking just to talk, I'll let that speak for itself.
